Sew, Laugh Love

I actually stopped working on (I have one more teeny piece to needleturn) Sew, Laugh Love a couple of weeks ago, but I had taken a few photos of the work and what it looks like dummied up on the canvas (stuck on with thumb tacks!).  So I thought I would show you what it’s like.

The pattern is from Leanne’s House by Leanne Beasley it comes with an iron on transfer and a pattern you can trace.  Instead of providing a stitch by stitch guide for this project, Leanne suggests we adlib and just pick our colours and go for it using stitches in our repetoire.  We are not left hanging though, there are some ideas and examples of what Leanne did on hers.

I bought a kit from Perri at Stitches from the Bush, that included Leanne’s chosen Cosmo Threads in addition to a piece of hanky linen, so all I had to add was a couple of fat quarters* worth of fabric.  *(I did have to stitch one of my strips from pieces because I did not have whole width of fabric strips as described in the instructions I already had the fabric cut into fat quarter size.)
